Can Ranplan export and import in GIS format?

A Geographic Information System format (GIS) is a file type that combines map data with features from a database of a location.

We support the following GIS formats:

  • GRD – converted into terrain data
  • GRC – converted into clutter data
  • SHP – the feature geometry itself, converted into building vector data
  • SHX – the positional index of the feature geometry, converted into building vector data
  • DBF – columnar attribute information of shape, converted into building vector data
  • TAB – converted into partial building vector data
  • IMG – converted into terrain data
  • MID – MapInfo exchange file
  • MIF – MapInfo file
  • OSM – open street maps to building vector data
  • TIF – converted into terrain or clutter data
  • TIFF – converted into terrain or clutter data
Building vectors and foliage can be created manually or importing GIS files.
